How to Use Gadgets - Radar, Audio, Cameras and Phones

The remake added two gadgets the original never dreamed about: a radar tablet and an audio device. Cameras, radios, and lure phones appeared across other sneaks peeks.

Radar Tablet

The radar tablet displays beacons for objectives, threats, and squad members within range. After the August 24 patch, radar only shows beacons from its originating tablet and beacons disappear when the device is destroyed.

Audio Device

The audio device picks up environmental sounds and creature activity. It can detect Jerry approaching before visual contact, other players movement, and environmental cues.

Security Cameras

Some buildings have functional security cameras connected to an interior monitor. Use cameras to watch entry points, confirm Jerry position, and monitor multiple approaches.

Phone Lure

Phones in certain locations can ring and attract Jerry attention. Use strategically to redirect Jerry away from your position.

Radio GUI and Signal Tower

The signal tower extends radio range for players near it. Move toward it to maintain radio contact when spread out.

Post-Release Patch Changes (August 24, 2026)

Radar now only displays beacons from its originating tablet. Beacons disappear after device destruction. This was a community-requested fix for screen clutter.
