The Participation Trophy badge is awarded for buying a medallion from the dealer, and three purchase-style badges (shop item, dealer item, medallion purchase) sit alongside the risk and night-delivery badges on the 23-badge list. What medallions do in-game

Medallions are activated with H on PC (or D-Pad Down on console). Community reports describe each medallion as a temporary utility boost — for example, a brief flash of invulnerability, a sprint-extension, a stamina restore, or a noise-reducing accessory. The exact effect per medallion type is not first-party published; treat each medallion as a temporary consumable rather than a permanent stat increase.

The Participation Trophy badge

The badge API confirms Participation Trophy as a medal-tier badge awarded for buying a medallion from the dealer. This is the simplest of the three shop-purchase badges:

• Buy an item from the Soul Coins Dealer.
• Buy a medallion from the Soul Coins Dealer.

Acquisition order

For a fresh player who wants all three shop badges:

1. Save 100 soul coins — the minimum for the first General Store visit. Cross-link Soul Coins.
2. Open the General Store — buy any item (food, water, bandages, or a small utility). This earns the “Buy any item” badge.
3. Save another 200–500 soul coins — the dealer requires more coin than the store.
4. Visit the Soul Coins Dealer — buy a non-medallion item if rotation offers one, otherwise buy a medallion directly. This earns the “Buy from dealer” badge and the Participation Trophy badge together.

This sequence keeps the cost under 1000 soul coins total and earns three badges in two trips.

When to use a medallion

Save medallions for:

• A confirmed creature chase.
• A Blood Moon window where the Wendigo Jerry damage jumps to 40–50.
• A Night Delivery route where the carrier needs a temporary safety window.

Do not waste a medallion during daylight prep — the effects are short and most useful in night phases.
